Mayer s hematoxylin staining solution

Manufactured by Merck Group
Sourced in United States

Mayer's hematoxylin staining solution is a laboratory reagent used for staining biological samples. It is a commonly used nuclear stain that selectively binds to DNA, allowing the visualization of cell nuclei in microscopic preparations. The solution contains hematoxylin, a natural dye, along with other components that facilitate the staining process. Mayer's hematoxylin staining solution is a versatile tool for various applications in histology, cytology, and tissue analysis.

Senescence-Associated β-Galactosidase Assay

Check if the same lab product or an alternative is used in the 5 most similar protocols
SA-β-gal activity assay was conducted as previously described [19] (link). Senescence Cells Histochemical Staining Kit (Sigma-Aldrich, St. Louis, MO, USA) was used to assess senescence in HDFs following the manufacturer's instructions. Test plates were washed twice with PBS, counterstained with Mayers Hematoxylin staining solution (Sigma-Aldrich, St, Louis, MO, USA) for 5 min at room temperature, and washed twice with PBS. HDFs were imaged by phase contrast on a Leica microscope (Leica Microsystems, Rijswijk, the Netherlands) and recorded at a 100× magnification using a digital color camera. Five hundred randomly selected fibroblasts per sample plate were photographed, and the blue-stained fibroblasts were counted and expressed as a percentage of SA-β-gal–stained cells.

About PubCompare

Our mission is to provide scientists with the largest repository of trustworthy protocols and intelligent analytical tools, thereby offering them extensive information to design robust protocols aimed at minimizing the risk of failures.

We believe that the most crucial aspect is to grant scientists access to a wide range of reliable sources and new useful tools that surpass human capabilities.

However, we trust in allowing scientists to determine how to construct their own protocols based on this information, as they are the experts in their field.
