Alkaloid and Phenolic Compound Analysis
Alkaloid standards such as chelidonine (purity ≥ 95%), sanguinarine (purity ≥ 90%), chelerythrine (purity ≥ 90%), and berberine (purity ≥ 95%) were purchased from Extrasynthese (France). Coptisine (purity ≥ 98%), p-coumaric acid, tannic acid, salicylic acid, chlorogenic acid, vanillic acid, trans-caffeic acid, vanillin, rosmarinic acid, quinine sulfate, and quercetin were purchased from Sigma (St. Louis, MO, USA).
Water was deionized and purified by ULTRAPURE Millipore Direct-QVR 3UV-R (Merck, Darmstadt, Germany).
Isolation and Characterization of Alkaloid Mixtures
Alkaloid mixtures used for bioactivity assays were obtained from the following sources:
sanguinarine (Sang), chelerythrine (Cheler) were isolated as a mixture from Coptis chinensis rhizoma (19g/100g yield). Three mixures were used: Sang-Cheler (0.2:1 w/w); Sang-Cheler-Chelid (0.2:1:1, w/w); Sang-Cheler-Berb (0.2:1:1, w/w).
Determination of Alkaloids and Phenolic Compounds
Berberine (purity ≥ 95%), protopine (purity ≥ 95%), sanguinarine (purity ≥ 90%), chelerythrine (purity ≥ 90%), and chelidonine (purity ≥ 95%) were purchased from Extrasynthese (Genay, France), while coptisine (purity ≥ 98%), allocryptopine (purity ≥ 98%), tr-caffeic acid, p-coumaric acid, chlorogenic acid, vanillic acid, salicylic acid, vanillin, quinine sulphate, and quercetin were purchased from Sigma-Aldrich (St. Louis, MO, USA).
About PubCompare
Our mission is to provide scientists with the largest repository of trustworthy protocols and intelligent analytical tools, thereby offering them extensive information to design robust protocols aimed at minimizing the risk of failures.
We believe that the most crucial aspect is to grant scientists access to a wide range of reliable sources and new useful tools that surpass human capabilities.
However, we trust in allowing scientists to determine how to construct their own protocols based on this information, as they are the experts in their field.
