GeI2 (99.99%) was purchased from ABCR, tri-n-octylphosphine (TOP, 97%) and Te (broken ingots, 99.999%) from STREM, oleic acid (90%), chloroform (99%), ethanol (99.8%), diethylzinc solution (1.0 M in hexanes), sulfur (99.98%) from Sigma-Aldrich, lithium bis(trimethylsilyl)amide (LiN(SiMe3)2, 95%) from Acros Organics. Oleic acid was dried at 100 C for 1 hour from water residues and all other chemicals were of anhydrous grade and were used as received. Anhydrous boron nitride (BN) from Alfa Aesar was dried under vacuum in a squalene oil bath at 250 °C for 24 h.

All experiments were performed under nitrogen in a glove box or by classical Schlenk-line techniques. Nitrogen and ethylene gases were purified by passage through BTS catalyst, molecular sieves and CaCl2. Toluene used as reaction solvent was purified by distillation from Na prior use. C2D2Cl4 (99.9% of D), norbornene (98%), diethylzinc solution (10 wt % in toluene), and triisobutylaluminum (TIBA neat) were purchased from Sigma Aldrich (St. Louis, MO, USA). norbornene was distilled from Na, and used as toluene stock solution. diethylzinc solution was handled in a glove box. Metallocenes 1 (isopropyliden(η5-cyclopentadienyl)(η5-indenyl)zirconium dichloride) and 2 (isopropyliden(η5-3-methylcyclopentadienyl)(η5-fluorenyl)zirconium dichloride), and dimethylanilinium tetrakis(pentafluorophenyl)borate were obtained from TOPAS Advanced Polymers GmbH, Frankfurt, Germany. Hydrochloric acid (Sigma Aldrich; 37% m/m) was used as received.

Diethylzinc solution (1.0 M in hexane), zinc acetate (anhydrous, 99.99%), zinc oxide (ZnO, 99.0%), 1-octadecene (ODE, 90%), oleic acid (OA, 90%), selenium (99.99%), 1-octanethiol (≥98.5%), oleylamine (OLA, 70%), cadmium oxide (CdO, ≥99.99%), trioctylphosphine oxide (TOPO, 99%), diphenylphosphine (DPP, 98%), tetrakis(acetonitrile)copper(I) hexafluorophosphate (97%) and zinc chloride (dry, ≥98.5%) were purchased from Sigma. Trioctylphosphine (TOP, 97%) was purchased from Strem. Octadecylphosphonic acid (ODPA, >99%), tetradecylphosphonic acid (TDPA, >99%) and hexylphosphonic acid (HPA, >99%) were purchased from PCI synthesis. All chemicals were used as received without any further purification.

About PubCompare

Our mission is to provide scientists with the largest repository of trustworthy protocols and intelligent analytical tools, thereby offering them extensive information to design robust protocols aimed at minimizing the risk of failures.

We believe that the most crucial aspect is to grant scientists access to a wide range of reliable sources and new useful tools that surpass human capabilities.

However, we trust in allowing scientists to determine how to construct their own protocols based on this information, as they are the experts in their field.
