VBU) was used as
the main component of the marine fuels. It was prepared on a laboratory
scale. Atmospheric gas oil from the visbreaking unit (AGO VBU) served
as a cutter stock. Light cycle oil (LCO) from fluid catalytic cracking
(FCC) and commercially available diaromatic fractions were used as
additives and stability-enhancing components. The abovementioned petroleum
products were formed by processing a mixture of Russian Export Blend
(REB) and Caspian Pipeline Consortium (CPC) crude oil in a ratio of
ca. 75:25 wt %. Individual streams were obtained using a standard
sampling point via commercial refinery technology. Their qualitative

= 99%) were commercially obtained from Sigma-Aldrich.
