Trp and IAA Isotope Analysis

Trp, indole-3-lactic acid (ILA), indole-3-ethanol (tryptophol, TOL), indole-3-acetic acid (IAA), indole-3-acetonitrile (IAN), indole-3-acetamide (IAM), tryptamine (TAM) were from Sigma-Aldrich (St. Louis, MO). HPLC grade water and acetonitrile were obtained from Fisher Scientific (Pittsburgh, PA). All other commercially available chemicals were either reagent grade or were of the highest quality.

Indole-3-Acetic Acid Biosynthesis Pathway

Acetic acid was purchased from Merck (Darmstadt, Germany), diethyldithiocarbamic acid sodium salt and cysteamine hydrochloride from Sigma-Aldrich, St. Louis, MO, USA, and HPLC gradient grade solvents from J.T. Baker—Fisher Scientific, Hampton, NH, USA. All other chemicals were from Carl Roth, Karlsruhe, Germany and Sigma-Aldrich.
