The chemicals used for the ex vivo activity assays were purchased from the following vendors: PBS (without Ca²⁺ and Mg²⁺) from PAN Biotech (Aidenbach, Germany); HPLC solvents from Fisher Scientific GmbH, Schwerte, Germany); HPLC standards of 15R/S-HETE, 12R/S-HETE, and 8-R/S-HETE from Cayman Chemicals (distributed by Biomol GmbH, Hamburg, Germany); and phorbol myristic acid (PMA) from Merck (Darmstadt, Germany). Dextran sulfate sodium (DSS, molecular weight = 36,000–50,000) was purchased from ICN Biomedicals (Irvine, CA, USA). The chemicals used for pain assessment (incomplete Freund’s adjuvant and desiccated Mycobacterium butyricum) were obtained from Fisher Scientific GmbH (Schwerte, Germany). The plethysmometer model 37140 was purchased from Ugo Basile (Gemonio, Italy). Von Frey cages (Model 410) and Hargreaves cages (Model 336) were purchased from IITC Life Sciences (Woodland Hills, LA, USA).

The chemicals used for the different experiments were obtained from the following sources: phosphate-buffered saline without calcium and magnesium (PBS) from PAN Biotech (Aidenbach, Germany); EDTA from Merck KG (Darmstadt, Germany); arachidonic acid (AA) and authentic HPLC standards of HETE-isomers (15R/S-HETE, 12S/R-HETE, 8R/S-HETE, 5S-HETE) from Cayman Chem (distributed by Biomol GmbH, Hamburg, Germany); acetic acid from Carl Roth GmbH (Karlsruhe, Germany); sodium borohydride from Life Technologies, Inc (Eggenstein, Germany); restriction enzymes from ThermoFisher (Schwerte, Germany). Oligonucleotide synthesis was performed at BioTez Berlin Buch GmbH (Berlin, Germany). Nucleic acid sequencing was carried out at Eurofins MWG Operon (Ebersberg, Germany). HPLC-grade methanol, acetonitrile, n-hexane, 2-propanol, ethanol, and water were from Fisher Scientific (Schwerte, Germany).
