Lung homogenates were frozen and thawed (frozen in liquid nitrogen for 5 min and then melted on ice) three times. After centrifugation at 12,000 rpm for 10 min at 4°C, supernatant was acquired. Cytokines (e.g., IL-17, IL-6, and IFN-γ) were detected in the supernatant or the serum with enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA) kits in accordance with the manufacturer’s protocol.
