2'(3')-O-(4-Benzoylbenzoyl)adenosine 5'-triphosphate triethylammonium salt (BzATP), Adenosine 5'-diphosphate monopotassium salt dihydrate (ADP), Adenosine 5'-[β-thio]diphosphate trilithium salt] (ADPβS), N-ethylmaleimide (NEM) and tris(2-carboxyethyl)phosphine hydrochloride (TCEP) were purchased from Sigma-Aldrich (St. Louis, MO) and MRS2365 from Tocris Bioscience (Bristol, UK). 1400W, PTIO, L-NAME and Propylamine Propylamine NONOate (PAPA NONOate) were purchased from Cayman Chemical (Ann Arbor, MI). The Cx43 hemichannel mimetic peptide 43Gap26 and panx1 mimetic peptide ¹⁰panx were purchased from Anaspec (Fremont, CA).

ubiquinone-2 (Q₂), duroquinone (DQ), diethylenetriaminepentaacetic acid (DTPA), ADP (Adenosine 5′-diphosphate monopotassium salt dihydrate), antimycin A, oligomycin A, carbonylcyanide-p-trifluoromethoxyphenylhydrazone (FCCP), cytochrome c (cyt c, horse heart), cumene hydroperoxide (α,α-dimethylbenzyl hydroperoxide, 80%), potassium hexacyanoferrate (III), sodium dithionite, and 2,3,5-Triphenyltetrazolium chloride (TTC) were purchased from Sigma-Aldrich Chemical Company (St. Louis, MO). The proteases of Trypsin/LysC mix (Mass Spec Grade, catalog no. V5073) and chymotrypsin (sequencing grade, catalog no. V1062) were purchased from Promega Corporation (Madison, WI), and stored at −20 °C until needed. Reduced ubiquinones, Q₂H₂ and DQH₂, were prepared by hydrogenation of Q₂ and DQ using H₂ gas in the presence of Platinum on carbon (5% Pt, Sigma-Aldrich).
