Analytical-grade Reagents for Ion Analysis

Preparation of Reference Materials

All solutions used were prepared using high-purity deionized type I water (resistivity ≥ 18 MΩ·cm at 25 °C). Reagent grade ACS sodium chloride (NaCl; Sigma Aldrich, USA), sodium nitrate (NaNO3; Sigma Aldrich, USA), and sodium tetraborate decahydrate (Na2B4O7·10H2O; Merck, USA) were used to prepare RM batches of Cl, NO3 and alkaline pH for the PT-1. In the case of the PT-2, NaCl (Sigma Aldrich, high purity grade), potassium nitrate (KNO3, Sigma Aldrich, high purity grade), and potassium hydrogen phthalate (C8H5KO4; Merck, USA) were used to prepare the RM batches for Cl, NO3 and acid pH, respectively.
Cl and NO3 standard solutions and calibration solutions were prepared daily and gravimetrically from a (998.7 ± 3.0) mg kg−1 standard reference material of Cl (SRM 3182, NIST) and a (999.8 ± 2.3) mg kg−1 standard reference material of NO3 (SRM 3185, NIST). Certified buffer solutions with pH values of 4.01, 7.00, and 10.01 with an associated expanded uncertainty of 0.02 at 25 °C were used to calibrate and assess the performance of the pH meter (Mettler Toledo, Switzerland).

Pd-Decorated Macadamia Nutshell Biocomposite

The preparation and characterization of the composite comprising polymer-coated Macadamia integrifolia nutshell biomass with embedded Pd nanoparticles (Pd@Polym-MNS) were as described in our recent report 48 (link). Potassium dichromate (K2Cr2O7) and formic acid (HCOOH, 85 wt%) were purchased from Merck Chemical Company, and Rochelle Chemicals, respectively. Sodium sulfate (Na2SO4), sodium chloride (NaCl), and sodium nitrate (NaNO3) were obtained from Sigma-Aldrich. Sulfuric acid (H2SO4, 98% wt%) and hydrochloric acid (HCl), 32% (w/w) were purchased from Associated Chemical Enterprises. A stock solution of Cr(VI) was prepared by dissolving the K2Cr2O7 in deionized water obtained from a Milli-Q water system (Milli-Q Direct, with 18.2 MΩ cm resistivity, Merck Millipore Corporation, USA).

Preparation and Characterization of Luteolin-Loaded Liposomes

Silicone elastomer (PDMS) Sylgard 184 and silicone oil (SO) Lukosiol M200 were purchased from (Dow, Midland, MI, USA) and (Lukoil, Prague, Czech Republic), respectively. Acetone p.a., dimethylformamide p.a. and diethyl ether p.a. (LachNer, Neratovice, Czech Republic) were used as received. Hydrochloric acid (HCl, ACS reagent, 37%) was supplied by (Sigma Aldrich, Poznan, Poland) [46 (link)].

Activated Persulfate Oxidation of Theophylline
