5 bromovanillin

Manufactured by Merck Group
Sourced in United States

5-Bromovanillin is a chemical compound used as a laboratory reagent. It is a derivative of vanillin, with a bromine atom substituted at the 5-position of the aromatic ring. 5-Bromovanillin is commonly used in analytical and organic chemistry applications, but a detailed description of its core function is not available while maintaining an unbiased and factual approach.

All solvents and substrates (acetyl, benzoyl, and p-toluoyl chloride, methyl acetoacetate, N-methylthiourea, vanillin, 5-bromovanillin, 5-iodovanillin, 5-nitrovanillin) were purchased from Sigma. Vanillic derivatives 1d–k were prepared following the procedures described previously in the literature [26 (link)]. We determined melting points (Mp) on a Mel-Temp apparatus. For recording IR spectra, we used a Perkin–Elmer Spectrum One FT-IR spectrometer on KBr pellet. A Varian Gemini 200 MHz NMR spectrometer (1H at 200 and 13C at 50 MHz) was utilized for NMR characterization of compounds 4a–k. The compounds were dissolved in DMSO-d6. 1H and 13C NMR spectra are presented in Supplementary Materials (see Figures S1–S22).

About PubCompare

Our mission is to provide scientists with the largest repository of trustworthy protocols and intelligent analytical tools, thereby offering them extensive information to design robust protocols aimed at minimizing the risk of failures.

We believe that the most crucial aspect is to grant scientists access to a wide range of reliable sources and new useful tools that surpass human capabilities.

However, we trust in allowing scientists to determine how to construct their own protocols based on this information, as they are the experts in their field.
