Propidium iodide rnase staining buffer solution

Manufactured by BD
Sourced in United States

Propidium iodide/RNase staining buffer solution is a laboratory reagent used for DNA content analysis and cell cycle studies. It contains propidium iodide, a fluorescent dye that binds to DNA, and RNase, an enzyme that removes cellular RNA. The solution is designed to stain and prepare cells for analysis using flow cytometry or other fluorescence-based techniques.

Cell Cycle Analysis of JEG-3 Cells

Check if the same lab product or an alternative is used in the 5 most similar protocols
Following incubation of 50 µg/ml rhβ2-GP I, aβ2-GP I and negative control IgG at 37°C for 24 h, all five groups (rhβ2-GP I, aβ2-GP I, IgG, aβ2-GP I/rhβ2-GP I and IgG/rhβ2-GP I) of JEG-3 cells were washed once with PBS, fixed with 70% ethanol at 4°C for 24 h, stained with propidium iodide/RNase staining buffer solution (BD Biosciences, San Jose, CA, USA) and analyzed with a flow cytometer (Beckman Coulter, Inc., Brea, CA, USA) and ModFit software 3.2.1 (Verity Software House, Inc., Topsham, ME, USA).

Cell Cycle Analysis of CRC Cells

Check if the same lab product or an alternative is used in the 5 most similar protocols
CRC cell lines were treated with vehicle (0.1% DMSO in PBS), cisplatin (2 and 0.2 µg/ml), NAM (3 and 5 mM) or a combination of these drugs for 72 h at 37˚C. The treated cells were fixed in 70% ethanol for at least 12 h at -20˚C, followed by incubation with 500 µl propidium iodide/RNase Staining Buffer Solution (BD Pharmingen; BD Biosciences) for 15 min at room temperature. The stained cells were assessed by flow cytometry using a FACSMelody Flow Cytometer (BD Biosciences) and the proportion of cells in the different cell cycle stages were analyzed using the Modfit LT software (version 3.1; Verity Software House).

About PubCompare

Our mission is to provide scientists with the largest repository of trustworthy protocols and intelligent analytical tools, thereby offering them extensive information to design robust protocols aimed at minimizing the risk of failures.

We believe that the most crucial aspect is to grant scientists access to a wide range of reliable sources and new useful tools that surpass human capabilities.

However, we trust in allowing scientists to determine how to construct their own protocols based on this information, as they are the experts in their field.
