Wound Epithelial Tongue Measurement

Check if the same lab product or an alternative is used in the 5 most similar protocols

Ex vivo wound samples (n = 5) were processed for hematoxylin and eosin (H&E) staining, and analysed using VisiCam (VWR International, UK) software. The epithelial tongue area (µm2) and length (µm) were measured and compared at day 5 post-wounding. To assess cell proliferation, the number of Ki-67+ and DAPI+ cells was counted along the basal layer of the wound epithelial tongue using ImageJ software (National Institutes of Health, Bethesda) and converted to a percentage, as previously described55 (link). Statistical analysis was performed using unpaired Student’s t-test.

Cell Morphology Analysis in Culture

Check if the same lab product or an alternative is used in the 5 most similar protocols
Morphological features of cells in culture were studied under an Olympus CK40 inverted microscope at 20X magnification and images were captured using VisiCam® software (VWR, USA). Cultures were classified as having cobblestone, spindle or mesenchymal morphology.

About PubCompare

Our mission is to provide scientists with the largest repository of trustworthy protocols and intelligent analytical tools, thereby offering them extensive information to design robust protocols aimed at minimizing the risk of failures.

We believe that the most crucial aspect is to grant scientists access to a wide range of reliable sources and new useful tools that surpass human capabilities.

However, we trust in allowing scientists to determine how to construct their own protocols based on this information, as they are the experts in their field.
