Propylene glycol (PG) was purchased from Interpharm (Bratislava, Slovakia), Carbopol 71G NF from Lubrizol (Cleveland, USA), soybean lecithin from Dimica (ASP, Divina, Slovakia) and gelatin from Valúch (Banská Bystica, Slovakia). Double-distilled water used for the experiments was prepared at the Department of Galenic Pharmacy (Kavalier, Labo SK, Bratislava, Slovakia). Porcine ear skin was acquired from a local slaughterhouse (Stará Huta, Slovakia).
