Electrochemical Analysis of Organic Compounds

(TBAP, 98%) were purchased from Sigma-Aldrich. N2 (99.998%,
prepurified) was gained from Cryogenic Gases. All the chemical reagents for
synthesis and analysis were analytical grade, obtained from commercial
suppliers, and used without further purification unless specified. All
electrodes for electrochemical experiments were purchased from Shanghai Chenhua
Co., Ltd., China. 1H NMR and 13C NMR were acquired
in CDCl3 on BRUKER AVANCE 500 spectrometer using TMS as an internal
standard. Mass spectrum was obtained on HP 5989 mass spectrometer.

Quantitative Analysis of Ferulic and Isoferulic Acids

Stock solutions of standards and isotope-labeled internal standards (IS) were prepared at a concentration of 1 mM in water and stored at ‒ 80 °C until use.

Characterization of Swerilactones H-K

Swerilactones H–K (14) were isolated from S. mileensis in our previous investigation, whose structures were unambiguously determined by extensive spectroscopic data and X-ray analyses [1 (link)]. Sample solutions were prepared by dissolving each sample in a solution of 85% CH3CN/H2O containing 0.05% formic acid to a final concentration of 0.2 mg/mL. The samples were introduced into the source via a syringe pump at a flow rate of 2 μL/min.
