Optical data were evaluated using Evolution 201 spectrophotometer (Thermo Scientific, Waltham, MA, USA). Photoluminescence spectra were acquired by spectrofluorometer Fluorolog 3 (Horiba Jobin Yvon, Longjumeau, France). UCNP complexes were studied by transmission electron microscopy (TEM) in bright-field mode, high-resolution TEM mode, high-angle annular-DF–scanning transmission electron microscopy (HAADF–STEM), and energy-dispersive X-ray analysis using an electron microscope (Tecnai Osiris, Thermo Fisher Scientific) operated at an accelerating voltage of 200 kV.
