Poplar Wood Modification with Urea-Formaldehyde

All the chemical agents were analytical-grade and used without further purification. All water used was ultrapure water. Poplar wood was purchased from Shijiazhuang, Hebei (China). Urea (CO(NH2)2), a formaldehyde aqueous solution (HCHO), and copper sulfate pentahydrate (CuSO4·5H2O) were provided by Sinopharm Chemical Reagent Co., Ltd. Ammonium fluorotitanate ((NH4)2TiF6) was obtained from Shanghai Macklin Biochemical Co., Ltd. The size of the wood sample was 20 mm (L) × 20 mm (R) × 1.5 mm (T), and it was ultrasonically cleaned with ultrapure water for 30 min and then dried in an oven at 45 °C for 24 h.
