Efficient DNA Extraction from Cells and Tissues

Genomic DNA was extracted using the QuickExtract DNA Extraction Solution (Epicentre). Briefly, pelleted cells were resuspended in QuickExtract solution and incubated at 65 °C for 15 min, 68 °C for 15 min, and 98 °C for 10 min8 (link). Genomic liver DNA was extracted from bulk tissue fragments using a microtube bead mill homogenizer (Beadbug, Denville Scientific) by homogenizing approximately 30–50 mg of tissue in 600 μL of DPBS (Gibco).
