Quantification of Oxidative Stress and Inflammation

Check if the same lab product or an alternative is used in the 5 most similar protocols
After centrifugation (1,000 × g; 25°C; 5 min), the cell supernatant of each subgroup was collected to analyze the levels of MDA, GSH-Px, SOD and the inflammatory factors IL-6, IL-1β and TNF-α. The following kits were used according to the manufacturer's instructions: Micro MDA assay kit (cat. no. BC0020; Beijing Solarbio Science & Technology Co., Ltd.), GSH-Px assay kit (cat. no. BC1195; Beijing Solarbio Science & Technology Co., Ltd.), SOD activity detection kit (cat. no. BC0170; Beijing Solarbio Science & Technology Co., Ltd.), rat IL-1β ELISA kit (cat. no. RLB00; R&D Systems, Inc.), rat IL-6 Quantikine ELISA kit (cat. no. R6000B; R&D Systems, Inc.) and rat TNFα Quantikine ELISA kit (cat. no. RTA00; R&D Systems, Inc.).

Evaluating Inflammatory Markers in Rats

Check if the same lab product or an alternative is used in the 5 most similar protocols
Before the rats were killed under excessive anesthesia, blood was collected through the abdominal aorta, and then centrifuged at 4°C, retained the supernatant and store at −20°C for later use. TNF‐α and IL‐1β levels and in rat was determined using rat TNF‐α ELISA kit and rat IL‐1β ELISA kit according to manufacturer's instructions (Solarbio).

Rat Kidney Function and Oxidative Stress

Check if the same lab product or an alternative is used in the 5 most similar protocols
The levels of BUN and creatinine in rat plasma were determined using a Urea assay kit (cat. no. C013-2-1) and Creatinine assay kit (cat. no. C011-1-1), respectively. Kidney tissues were rinsed in 100 mg/ml normal saline, then weighed and homogenized. MDA content and activities of CAT and MPO in the homogenate supernatant were determined. MDA in the supernatant of homogenized renal tissues from rats was measured using a MDA assay kit (cat. no. A003-1-2). The CAT enzymatic activity was measured using the CAT assay kit (cat. no. A007-1-1). The activity of MPO was measured by MPO assay kit (cat. no. A044-1-1). All kits were purchased from Nanjing Bioengineering Institute Co., Ltd and used according to the manufacturer's protocols. The levels of TNF-α and IL-1β in the rat plasma were measured using a Rat TNF-α ELISA kit (cat. no. SEKR-0009; Beijing Solarbio Science & Technology Co., Ltd.) and a Rat IL-1β ELISA kit (cat. no. SEKR-0002; Beijing Solarbio Science & Technology Co., Ltd.).

About PubCompare

Our mission is to provide scientists with the largest repository of trustworthy protocols and intelligent analytical tools, thereby offering them extensive information to design robust protocols aimed at minimizing the risk of failures.

We believe that the most crucial aspect is to grant scientists access to a wide range of reliable sources and new useful tools that surpass human capabilities.

However, we trust in allowing scientists to determine how to construct their own protocols based on this information, as they are the experts in their field.
