All animal experiments have been approved by the OIST Graduate University’s Animal Care and Use Committee (protocol 2016-151 and 2020-310). Tbx21Cre (Haddad et al., 2013 (link)) and B6J.Cg-Gt(ROSA)26Sortm95.1(CAG-GCaMP6f)Hze/MwarJ, also known as Ai95D (Madisen et al., 2015 (link)), were originally obtained from the Jackson Laboratory (stock numbers 024507 and 028865, respectively). Tbx21Cre::Ai95D mice were generated by crossing homozygous Tbx21Cre and Ai95D mice, resulting in heterozygous animals used for imaging experiments. C57Bl6J mice were purchased from Japan CLEA (Shizuoka, Japan) and were acclimatised to the OIST facility for at least 1 week before they were used for experiments. All mice used in this study were adult males (8–11 weeks old at the time of surgery).

All animal experiments had been approved by the Okinawa Institute of Science and Technology Graduate University Graduate Animal Care and Use Committee (Protocol 2020–310). Tbx21-Cre [36 (link)], B6J.Cg-Gt(ROSA)26Sortm95.1(CAG- GCaMP6f)Hze/MwarJ, also known as Ai95D [94 (link)], and Ai14 [95 (link)] mice were originally obtained from the Jackson Laboratory (stock numbers: 024507, 028865, and 007914, respectfully). Lbhd2-CreERT2 mice were generated previously and are also available through Jackson Laboratory (stock number 036054; [33 (link)]). Tbx21-Cre::Ai95D and Lbhd2-CreERT2::Ai95D mice were generated by crossing parents homozygous for each transgene. Lbhd2-CreERT2::Ai14 mice were generated by crossing Lbhd2-CreERT2 mice with Ai14 mice.

Genetically Engineered Mouse Models

C57BL/6, Tbx21−/−, and CD11c-Cre, Tbx21-Cre, Tbx21flox/flox, Irf8flox/flox, R26R-EYFP mice were obtained from The Jackson Laboratory (Bar Harbor, ME), and Rag2−/−γc−/− mice were obtained from Taconic Biosciences (Rensselaer, NY). CD11c-Cre mice crossed with Tbx21flox/flox or Irf8flox/flox mice generated CD11c-Tbx21−/−and CD11c-Irf8−/− mice, respectively. Tbx21-Cre crossed with R26R-EYFP mice generated Tbx21-EYFP mice. All mice were age and sex matched within individual experiments. All procedures were approved by the Institutional Animal Care and Use Committee of the host campus of Indiana University School of Medicine–Terre Haute, Indiana State University.

About PubCompare

Our mission is to provide scientists with the largest repository of trustworthy protocols and intelligent analytical tools, thereby offering them extensive information to design robust protocols aimed at minimizing the risk of failures.

We believe that the most crucial aspect is to grant scientists access to a wide range of reliable sources and new useful tools that surpass human capabilities.

However, we trust in allowing scientists to determine how to construct their own protocols based on this information, as they are the experts in their field.
