Silica gel 60 f 254 tlc sheets

Manufactured by Merck Group

Silica gel 60 F-254 TLC sheets are thin-layer chromatography (TLC) plates used for analytical and preparative separations. They are composed of silica gel, a porous material, coated onto a plastic or aluminum backing. The silica gel 60 F-254 formulation includes a fluorescent indicator that allows for easy visualization of separated compounds under UV light.

Comprehensive Characterization of Organic Compounds

NMR spectroscopy (1H, 13C) was conducted on either a Bruker DPX-300 or Bruker DPX-400 spectrometer, and all chemical shifts (δ) are given in ppm relative to the solvent reference. The data are recorded as follows: chemical shift (multiplicity (s for singlet, d for doublet, t for triplet, m for multiplet, and br for broad), coupling constant(s) J are quoted in Hz). Mass spectroscopy was obtained using a Bruker HCT Ultra machine. TLCs were performed on Merck silica gel 60 F-254 TLC sheets and were visualized by staining with 10% H2SO4 in ethanol followed by heating. Flash chromatography was carried out using Sigma–Aldrich technical grade silica gel (pore size, 60 Å; particle size, 40–63 μm) as the stationary phase.

Phytochemical Isolation and Characterization

Column chromatography (CC) and thin layer chromatography (TLC) were applied for the separation and isolation of fraction and phytoconstitutents using silica gel, Silica Gel 60 F, 70–230 mesh ASTM (Merck 7734).
TLC of dimethyl sulfone was analyzed using commercially available Merck Aluminium supported silica gel 60 F254 TLC sheets (Merck 1.05554.0001). The elution of the column with Toluene: Acetone (9:1) afforded colorless semisolid mass of 1, which was purified by Thin Layer Chromatography (Toluene: Acetone; 9:1). A UV spectrum of Dimethyl sulfone was obtained using a JASCO V 630 Ultraviolet–Visible Spectrometer. Moreover, an IR spectrum was recorded in the range of 4000–600 cm−1 by using a JASCO FTIR-4600 and the NMR spectra were acquired with a Brucker DNP-NMR (400 and 500 MHz).

About PubCompare

Our mission is to provide scientists with the largest repository of trustworthy protocols and intelligent analytical tools, thereby offering them extensive information to design robust protocols aimed at minimizing the risk of failures.

We believe that the most crucial aspect is to grant scientists access to a wide range of reliable sources and new useful tools that surpass human capabilities.

However, we trust in allowing scientists to determine how to construct their own protocols based on this information, as they are the experts in their field.
