HepG2 is a widely used human liver cancer cell line. It is derived from a hepatocellular carcinoma of a 15-year-old Caucasian male. HepG2 cells exhibit many of the genotypic and phenotypic characteristics of normal human hepatocytes and are commonly used in cell-based assays and research.
