CNQX, SR95531 (GABAzine), and D-AP5 were purchased from Tocris. PBS, Urea, and Aβ_1–42/Aβ_42–1 powder were purchased from Gibco, Affymetix, and Bachem, respectively. DMSO and the other regents were all purchased from Sigma. For western blot analysis, rabbit monoclonal antibody mOC64was purchased from Abcam (Cat# ab201060, Lot# GR3235744-4, RRID: AB_2818982). Horseradish peroxidase (HRP)-conjugated anti-rabbit antibodies (Cat# 170-6515, Control# 64170140, RRID: AB_2617112), Mini-PROTEAN TGX 4–15% tris-glycine gels, 4x Laemmli sample buffer, Native sample buffer, and running buffer were all purchased from Bio-Rad.

Mouse brain slice sections were prepared as described previously [12 ] with slight modifications. Paraffin sections with thickness of 5 μm was subjected to immunostaining using a Lica Bond-Max automatic immunostainer (Leica Biosystems, Mount Waverley, VIC, Australia). Used antibodies are rabbit anti-beta Amyloid 1–42 antibody (mOC64, 1:1000, abcam, Cambridge, UK) rabbit anti-AQP4 (1:30000, Atlas Antibodies AB, Bromma, Sweden), rabbit anti-Glial fibrillary acidic protein (GFAP) (1:2000, abcam), and rabbit anti-Iba1 (1:2000, FUJIFILM Wako Pure Chemical Corporation, Osaka, Japan) antibodies. The number and size of plaques were analyzed using ImageJ ver. 2.

Twenty-eight rabbit monoclonal antibodies consisting of 5 antibodies derived from A11 serum and 23 derived from OC serum were produced and characterized as described (9 (link), 10 (link)). Eight antibodies are commercially available from Abcam mOC22 (cat# ab205339), mOC23 (cat# ab205340), mOC31 (cat# ab201059), mOC64 (cat# ab201060), mOC78 (cat# ab205341), mOC87 (cat# ab201062), mOC98 (cat# ab201061), and mOC116 (cat# ab205342). All of the other antibodies are available under material transfer agreement upon request.
