Dulbecco s modified eagle s medium high glucose powder dmem

Manufactured by Merck Group
Sourced in United States

Dulbecco's modified Eagle's medium (high glucose) powder (DMEM) is a cell culture medium used to support the growth of various cell types. It provides essential nutrients, amino acids, vitamins, and other components required for cell proliferation and maintenance. The high glucose concentration in this formulation makes it suitable for applications where increased energy demands are necessary, such as rapidly dividing cells.

Sephadex LH-20 (Merck KGaA, Darmstadt, Germany), silica gel 60 (Merck KGaA) and Geduran Si 60 (Merck KGaA) were used for column chromatography. TLC plates (Silica Kiesel 60 F254) were from Merck KGaA. Jasco V-530 ultraviolet spectrophotometer (Jasco International Co., Ltd, Tokyo, Japan) was used to measure UV spectra. IR spectra were obtained on an FT-IR-4100 Jasco spectrophotometer (Jasco). Optical rotations were achieved by a Jasco P-2000 digital polarimeter (Jasco). NMR spectra were obtained by JEOL JNM ECS 400 MHz. Electrospray ionization mass spectrometry (ESIMS) data were collected on a Waters micromass ZQ mass spectrometer (Waters Corporation, Milford, MA, USA). High-resolution ESIMS data was accomplished by a Bruker APEX II spectrometer (FT-ICR/MS, FTMS) (Bruker Daltonics Inc., Billerica, MA, USA). Dulbecco’s modified Eagle’s medium (high glucose) powder (DMEM), 3-(4,5-dimethylthiazol-2-yl)-2,5-diphenyltetrazolium bromide (MTT), p-nitrophenyl-N-acetyl-d-glucosaminide (p-NAG), penicillin and streptomycin, dexamethasone, calcium ionophore A23187, and dimethyl sulfoxide (DMSO) were purchased from Sigma-Aldrich (St. Louis, MO, USA). Fetal bovine serum (FBS) was obtained from Hyclone (Logan, UT, USA). Mouse anti-DNP IgE antibody was a generous gift from Dr. Daniel H. Conrad (Virginia Commonwealth University, Richmond, VA, USA).

Roche Diagnostics Germany (Mannheim, Germany) kindly supplied glucotest strips. The radioimmunoassay kit used for determination of insulin level and the glucose oxidase kit were purchased from Amersham Biosciences; (Piscataway, NJ, USA) and Siemens Healthcare Diagnostics (Deerfield, IL, USA), respectively. DNP-BSA (dinitrophenyl-conjugated bovine serum albumin) and FBS (fetal bovine serum) were obtained from Merck (Kenilworth, NJ, USA) and Hyclone (Logan, UT, USA), respectively. Other kits used for assessment of LPO (lipid peroxidation) and MDA (malondialdehyde) were obtained from Fluka (Buchs, Switzerland). Dr. Daniel H. Conrad (Virginia Commonwealth University, Richmond, VA, USA) generously supplied Mouse anti-DNP IgE antibody. All other solvents for LC/MS as well as GLC/MS analyses were of analytical grade.

About PubCompare

Our mission is to provide scientists with the largest repository of trustworthy protocols and intelligent analytical tools, thereby offering them extensive information to design robust protocols aimed at minimizing the risk of failures.

We believe that the most crucial aspect is to grant scientists access to a wide range of reliable sources and new useful tools that surpass human capabilities.

However, we trust in allowing scientists to determine how to construct their own protocols based on this information, as they are the experts in their field.
