Maldi tof biotyper version 3

Manufactured by Bruker

The MALDI-TOF Biotyper, version 3.0, is a compact, automated mass spectrometry-based system. It is designed for the rapid identification of microorganisms, including bacteria and yeasts, from cultured isolates. The system uses matrix-assisted laser desorption/ionization time-of-flight (MALDI-TOF) technology to generate reproducible protein profiles, which are then compared to a comprehensive database for accurate microbial identification.

Identification and Genotyping of H. influenzae

Check if the same lab product or an alternative is used in the 5 most similar protocols
H. influenzae was identified by culture methods (84 ) and with MALDI-TOF Biotyper, version 3.0 (Bruker). NTHi isolates were genotyped using PFGE (85 (link)).

Identification of Invasive Haemophilus influenzae

Check if the same lab product or an alternative is used in the 5 most similar protocols
Invasive H. influenzae strains collected from sterile sites in our laboratory were stored at −80°C. Isolates were identified by mass spectrometry using a MALDI-TOF Biotyper version 3.0 (Bruker). Differentiation between H. influenzae and H. haemolyticus was performed by the detection of fucK, iga, and lgtC genes, using a previously described methodology [12] (link). Isolates with a positive detection for all three genes were considered H. influenzae.

About PubCompare

Our mission is to provide scientists with the largest repository of trustworthy protocols and intelligent analytical tools, thereby offering them extensive information to design robust protocols aimed at minimizing the risk of failures.

We believe that the most crucial aspect is to grant scientists access to a wide range of reliable sources and new useful tools that surpass human capabilities.

However, we trust in allowing scientists to determine how to construct their own protocols based on this information, as they are the experts in their field.
