Statistical Analysis of Experimental Data

Check if the same lab product or an alternative is used in the 5 most similar protocols
Data processing and analysis were performed using Microsoft Excel 2019 and GraphPad Prism software (GraphPad Software Inc., La Jolla, CA, USA). The significant difference was analyzed using the Student’s t test and one-way ANOVA. * p < 0.5 represents a significant difference, ** p < 0.01 represents an extremely significant difference.

Retinal Morphology Changes in Mice

Check if the same lab product or an alternative is used in the 5 most similar protocols
To detect morphological changes in the retina of mice caused by the therapeutic intervention, mice were anesthetized at P17 with ketamine (125 mg/kg of body weight) and xylazine (80 mg/kg of body weight) and euthanized through perfusion with 4% PFA. Then, eyes were enucleated, fixed for 24 hours in Ito’s fixative, and embedded in Epon as previously described (65 ). Semi-thin sections of 1.0-μm thickness were cut along the mid-horizontal (nasal-temporal) plane and stained by Richardson’s stain. Afterward, images were taken using light microscopy (Axio Imager, Plan-Neofluar 40×/1.30 oil M27 objective; Carl Zeiss). For a quantitative assessment, the distance between ora serrata and optic nerve head was divided into tenths, and the thickness of the outer nuclear layer and inner nuclear layer was measured between each tenth using Zen software (Carl Zeiss Microscopy) and ImageJ version 1.52. Data were handled using Microsoft Excel 2019 and GraphPad Prism 6.0.

Evaluating Cardiac Arrhythmia Induction

Check if the same lab product or an alternative is used in the 5 most similar protocols
Data are presented as box-and-whisker plots showing the median, the first and third quartiles, and the minimum and maximum values. The data were analyzed using either an unpaired Student’s t-test or ANOVA followed by Dunnett’s, Tukey’s, or Holm–Sidak multiple comparison test, as indicated. Kaplan–Meier analysis followed by a log-rank test with or without post hoc Bonferroni’s correction was used to compare survival between mouse groups. The frequencies of VT/VF induction were compared using the χ2 test. All the statistical analyses were performed using Microsoft Excel 2019 and GraphPad Prism 8 software (GraphPad Software, Inc., San Diego, CA, USA). Each experiment was repeated independently at least 2–3 times with similar results.

Statistical Analysis of Experimental Data

Check if the same lab product or an alternative is used in the 5 most similar protocols
All graphs and data analysis were done using Microsoft Excel 2019 and GraphPad Prism version 6.0 for Windows (GraphPad Software, San Diego, CA, USA). One-way ANOVA was used to determine significance where needed.

Viral Infection Quantification and Analysis

Check if the same lab product or an alternative is used in the 5 most similar protocols
Data analysis was performed using Microsoft Excel 2019 and GraphPad Prism version 9.2.0 for Windows, GraphPad Software, San Diego, California USA, www.graphpad.com, R (version 4.0.1) and SAS (version 9.4). Plaque assays were quantified using ImageJ. Error bars were plotted as SD (standard deviation) for experiments with technical replicates and as SEM (standard error of mean) for experiments with more than one biological replicate. Compound dilutions that caused a 50% reduction of infection (IC50) were calculated using a non-linear regression model (inhibitor vs. normalized response, variable slope). Z’ factors were determined as described (Iversen et al., 2006 (link)). Correlations were assessed by non-parametric spearman correlation.

Immunoblot Densitometric Analysis Protocol

Check if the same lab product or an alternative is used in the 5 most similar protocols
Statistical analyses were performed using Microsoft Excel 2019 and GraphPad Prism 8 (GraphPad Software, San Diego, CA). Densitometric analyses of immunoblot images were performed using Image Studio Lite (LI-COR Biosciences, Lincoln, NE). Data are presented as a mean ± SD from at least 3 independent experiments unless otherwise stated in the figure legends. P values were calculated using Student’s t test for normally distributed data; P < .05 was considered statistically significant.
Human data were compared using Fisher’s exact test.

Differential Gene Expression Analysis

Check if the same lab product or an alternative is used in the 5 most similar protocols
Statistical analysis was conducted using Microsoft Excel 2019, Graphpad Prism 5.0, and SPSS statistical software (IBM Corp, Armonk, NY, USA). In order to ensure the biological significance of the results, a two-fold cut-off value was applied for differential gene expression analysis. The data were subjected to ANOVA (one-way analysis of variance) using the SPSS software, and differences in means were considered significant if they had a p-value < 0.05, as determined by Dunnett's test.

Onset Analysis of Adverse Events

Check if the same lab product or an alternative is used in the 5 most similar protocols
Descriptive analysis and time to onset analysis were performed to study the characteristics of reports. The calculation method of time to onset of AEs is as follows: Time to onset = AEs onset date—VEN administration date. Typing errors or non-detailed reports, such as AEs earlier than the start date, need to be excluded. The duration of onset was described with medians and inter quartile range. All data processing and statistical analysis were performed by MYSQL 8.0, Navicat Premium 15, Microsoft EXCEL 2019 and GraphPad Prism 8.

Statistical Analyses and Graphing

Check if the same lab product or an alternative is used in the 5 most similar protocols
Statistical analyses and graphing were performed using Microsoft Excel 2019 and GraphPad Prism 8.0 software (GraphPad, San Diego, CA, USA). For IPA analyses, a Z score (Z ≤−2.0 or Z ≥2.0) was considered significant. When the two groups were compared, student t test was used. Values of P <0.05 were considered significant. When multiple groups (>2) were compared, two-way ANOVA was applied.

About PubCompare

Our mission is to provide scientists with the largest repository of trustworthy protocols and intelligent analytical tools, thereby offering them extensive information to design robust protocols aimed at minimizing the risk of failures.

We believe that the most crucial aspect is to grant scientists access to a wide range of reliable sources and new useful tools that surpass human capabilities.

However, we trust in allowing scientists to determine how to construct their own protocols based on this information, as they are the experts in their field.
