Annexin 5 fluorescein isothiocyanate propidium iodide apoptosis kit

Manufactured by BD
Sourced in United States

The Annexin V-fluorescein isothiocyanate-propidium iodide apoptosis kit is a laboratory tool used to detect and quantify apoptosis, a specific type of programmed cell death. The kit utilizes Annexin V, a protein that binds to phosphatidylserine, and propidium iodide, a DNA-binding dye, to differentiate between viable, apoptotic, and necrotic cells.

Annexin V-FITC Apoptosis Assay

Check if the same lab product or an alternative is used in the 5 most similar protocols
Apoptosis of A549 and H1299 cells was examined by the Annexin V-fluorescein isothiocyanate-propidium iodide apoptosis kit (BD Biosciences, NJ, USA). Cells were collected after transfection and washed with cold PBS. The cells were then suspended with 1 × binding buffer (500 μl), mixed with 5 μl Annexin, and preserved at room temperature for 15 min away from light with V‐FITC and 5 μl PI. The percentage of apoptotic cells was assessed on an FACS Calibur flow cytometer [25 (link)].

Annexin V-FITC/PI Apoptosis Assay

Check if the same lab product or an alternative is used in the 5 most similar protocols
The cell apoptosis rate was measured by using an annexin V‐fluorescein isothiocyanate/propidium iodide apoptosis kit (BD Biosciences) according to the manufacturer's instructions. We analysed the cellular fluorescence with the FACSCalibur™ flow cytometer (BD Biosciences). Three technical replicates were applied for each sample.

About PubCompare

Our mission is to provide scientists with the largest repository of trustworthy protocols and intelligent analytical tools, thereby offering them extensive information to design robust protocols aimed at minimizing the risk of failures.

We believe that the most crucial aspect is to grant scientists access to a wide range of reliable sources and new useful tools that surpass human capabilities.

However, we trust in allowing scientists to determine how to construct their own protocols based on this information, as they are the experts in their field.
