Annexin 5 and pi staining kit

Manufactured by Thermo Fisher Scientific
Sourced in United States

The Annexin V and PI staining kit is a laboratory tool used to detect and quantify apoptosis, a process of programmed cell death. The kit contains Annexin V, a protein that binds to phosphatidylserine, and propidium iodide (PI), a fluorescent dye that stains DNA. This combination allows for the identification of cells in different stages of apoptosis through flow cytometry analysis.

Control or EXDFP knock-down SKOV3 cells (1 × 105/ml) treated with or without various concentrations of paclitaxel were seeded into 6 well plates in a volume of 2 ml culture medium and cultured for 24 h. Cells were stained using an Annexin V and PI staining kit (V13242, Thermo Fisher Scientific, MA, USA) and detected on a FACSCalibur (BD Biosciences). Annexin V and/or PI positive apoptotic cells were analyzed using FlowJo software (FlowJo LLC, OR, USA).

Apoptosis Assay of SKOV3 Cells

Check if the same lab product or an alternative is used in the 5 most similar protocols
SKOV3 cells (1 × 105/ml in a 2 ml per well) were seeded into 6-well plates and cultured overnight. WG-391D was added at increasing concentrations, from 0.2 to 25 μM. Cells were cultured for a further 6 to 24 h and stained using an Annexin V and PI staining kit (V13242, Thermo Fisher Scientific, MA, USA), according to manufacturer's instructions. Apoptotic cells were detected using a FACSCalibur (BD Biosciences) instrument, and analyzed using FlowJo software (FlowJo LLC, OR, USA).

About PubCompare

Our mission is to provide scientists with the largest repository of trustworthy protocols and intelligent analytical tools, thereby offering them extensive information to design robust protocols aimed at minimizing the risk of failures.

We believe that the most crucial aspect is to grant scientists access to a wide range of reliable sources and new useful tools that surpass human capabilities.

However, we trust in allowing scientists to determine how to construct their own protocols based on this information, as they are the experts in their field.
