P25 TiO2 (Aeroxide), HAuCl4•3H2O (ACS reagent grade), tetralin (1,2,3,4-tetrahydronaphthalene), Palladium (II) acetylacetonate (Pd(acac)2), 0.35 mass fraction Pd, 1-dodecene (DDE, 93–95 %), 1-octadecene (ODE, 90 %) were purchased from Acros Organics. tert-butylamine borane (TBAB, 97 %) 1-oleylamine (OLAM, 70 %), oleic acid (OLAC, 90 %), trioctylphosphine (TOP, 97 %) were purchased from Sigma-Aldrich. 1-tetradecene (TDE, 94 %) was purchased from Alfa Aesar. High purity gases (> 99.999 % purity) from Airgas were used for all experiments, giving a water content below 10 ppm. All reagents and solvents were used as received.
