Aconitase activity microplate assay kit

Manufactured by Abcam
Sourced in China

The Aconitase Activity Microplate assay kit is a laboratory tool used to measure the activity of the enzyme aconitase. Aconitase is a key enzyme in the citric acid cycle, a metabolic pathway that plays a crucial role in energy production within cells. This assay kit provides a quantitative method to assess aconitase activity in various sample types.

Aconitase Activity Measurement Protocol

Check if the same lab product or an alternative is used in the 5 most similar protocols
Aconitase activity was determined by monitoring the conversion of isocitrate to cis-aconitate, which produces absorbance at a wavelength of 240 nm. The Aconitase Activity Microplate assay kit (ab109712, abcam, Shanghai, China) was employed per the manufacturer's recommended protocol [45 (link)].

Mitochondrial Enzyme Activity Assay

Check if the same lab product or an alternative is used in the 5 most similar protocols
Mitochondria were isolated from cells as described above. Mitochondrial complex I, II, and IV activities were measured as described previously (Spinazzi et al, 2012). Aconitase activity was measured using Aconitase Activity Microplate Assay Kit (Abcam). Citrate synthase activity was measured from the same sample using Citrate Synthase Activity Kit (BioVision) and was used to normalize the mitochondrial complex activity.

About PubCompare

Our mission is to provide scientists with the largest repository of trustworthy protocols and intelligent analytical tools, thereby offering them extensive information to design robust protocols aimed at minimizing the risk of failures.

We believe that the most crucial aspect is to grant scientists access to a wide range of reliable sources and new useful tools that surpass human capabilities.

However, we trust in allowing scientists to determine how to construct their own protocols based on this information, as they are the experts in their field.
