VEGF-C Overexpression in Mice

Check if the same lab product or an alternative is used in the 5 most similar protocols
C57BL/6J and BALB/c WT mice were obtained from Janvier. CCSP-rtTA × tet-O–VEGF-C mice (22 (link), 23 ) were backcrossed into the C57BL/6 and BALB/c backgrounds. Prox1-GFP mice were provided by Y.-K. Hong, University of Southern California (29 (link)). All mice were housed under specific pathogen–free conditions. The overexpression of VEGF-C in CCSP-rtTA × tet-O–VEGF-C mice was induced by administration of doxycycline (1 mg/ml, C57BL/6 mice; 2 mg/ml, BALB/c mice) in drinking water (containing 5% sucrose) for 2 weeks, starting at 8 weeks of age.

Balb/c Mice Husbandry and Ethics

Check if the same lab product or an alternative is used in the 5 most similar protocols
All mice used in this study have Balb/c genetic background. The Balb/c WT mice were obtained from Janvier Labs (Saint-Berthevin, France). All mice were maintained under specific pathogen-free conditions and had free access to food and water. All experiments were performed in accordance with the German and European laws for animal protection and were approved by the government of Unterfranken, Bavaria (Az. 54-2532.1-2/10).

About PubCompare

Our mission is to provide scientists with the largest repository of trustworthy protocols and intelligent analytical tools, thereby offering them extensive information to design robust protocols aimed at minimizing the risk of failures.

We believe that the most crucial aspect is to grant scientists access to a wide range of reliable sources and new useful tools that surpass human capabilities.

However, we trust in allowing scientists to determine how to construct their own protocols based on this information, as they are the experts in their field.
