U0126 (1,4-diamino-2,3-dicyano-1,4-bis[o-aminophenylmercapto]butadiene) was from Merck Millipore (Billerica, MA, USA), 2,7-bis(2-carboxyethyl)-5(6)-carboxyfluorescein-acetoxymethyl ester (BCECF-AM), and Pluronic^® F127 were from Thermo Fisher Scientific (Waltham, MA, USA). Anti-MEK, anti-phosphorylated (p)-MEK, anti-ERK, and anti-p-ERK antibodies were from Cell Signaling Technology (Danvers, MA, USA), anti-NCX from Santa Cruz Biotechnology Inc., (Dallas, TX, USA), anti-NHE-1 antibody from Abcam (Cambridge, UK), anti-β-actin from Sigma-Aldrich, and secondary antibody (horseradish peroxidase-conjugated goat antirabbit immunoglobulin (Ig)G) from BosterBio (Pleasanton, CA, USA).
