The monitor, which was the only source of illumination in the room, was viewed monocularly through a phoropter with the observer's best refractive correction. The luminance values used to generate the stimuli were determined by the ViSaGe linearized look-up table, which were verified by measurements made with a Minolta LS-110 photometer (Konica Minolta, Tokyo, Japan).
