Colon Tissue Preparation and Histological Analysis

The mice were perfused with saline to flush out circulating blood cells under anesthesia. Histological Analysis of Mouse Colon

The mice were anesthetized with 1% sodium pentobarbital by intraperitoneal injection and sacrificed. Then, the colons were isolated and sectioned. The colons were washed twice in pre-cooled PBS and soaked overnight in paraformaldehyde (4% in 0.1 mol/L phosphate buffer, pH 7.4). After immersion in absolute ethyl alcohol through a graded alcohol series, the tissues were embedded in paraffin, sectioned, and stained.
