Masson s trichrome stain kit

Manufactured by Thermo Fisher Scientific

Masson's trichrome stain kit is a histological staining technique used to differentiate various types of connective tissue. The kit contains the necessary reagents to stain collagen fibers (blue), muscle fibers (red), and nuclei (black) in tissue samples.

Histological Analysis of Liver Tissue

Check if the same lab product or an alternative is used in the 5 most similar protocols
Fresh liver tissues were fixed overnight in 10% neutral buffered formalin. Hematoxylin and eosin staining was performed using a commonly used protocol. Collagen staining was performed using Masson’s trichrome stain kit from Thermo Fisher Scientific (cat #87019). Histology was assessed by a pathologist with representative images captured by the Olympus VS120 slide scanning system shown in the figures.

Bone Histomorphometry in Alzheimer's Model

Check if the same lab product or an alternative is used in the 5 most similar protocols
To label the newly formed bone, two doses of calcein (25 mg/kg, catalog no. C0875, Sigma-Aldrich) were injected intraperitoneally (i.p.) to 8-month-old male WT and 5xFAD mice eight days apart. Seventy-two hours after the second calcein injection, mice were euthanized for tissue harvest. Tissue processing and histomorphometry on the distal portion of the femur were performed at the MGH Center for Skeletal Research Histology & Histomorphometry Core according to the American Society for Bone and Mineral Research guidelines (Dempster et al., 2013 (link)). The Masson's Trichrome stain kit from Thermo Fisher (catalog no. 87019) was used to visualize osteoblasts, and the Leukocyte Acid Phosphatase (TRAP) Kit from Sigma-Aldrich (catalog no. 387A) was used to identify osteoclasts, with Fast Green (catalog no. F7252, Sigma-Aldrich) as counterstaining.

About PubCompare

Our mission is to provide scientists with the largest repository of trustworthy protocols and intelligent analytical tools, thereby offering them extensive information to design robust protocols aimed at minimizing the risk of failures.

We believe that the most crucial aspect is to grant scientists access to a wide range of reliable sources and new useful tools that surpass human capabilities.

However, we trust in allowing scientists to determine how to construct their own protocols based on this information, as they are the experts in their field.
