Linezolid and vancomycin

Manufactured by Chem-Impex
Sourced in United States

Linezolid and vancomycin are antibacterial agents commonly used in laboratory settings. Linezolid is a synthetic oxazolidinone antibiotic, while vancomycin is a glycopeptide antibiotic. Both are used for the in vitro evaluation of antimicrobial activity against various bacterial strains.

Enterococcal Strains Protocol Acquisition

Check if the same lab product or an alternative is used in the 5 most similar protocols
Enterococcal strains used in the study were obtained from the Biodefense and Emerging Infections Research Resources Repository (BEI Resources) (Manassas, VA, USA), and the American Type Culture Collection (ATCC) (Manassas, VA, USA). Media and reagents were purchased from commercial vendors: tryptic soy broth (TSB), tryptic soy agar (TSA), enterococcosel agar (Becton, Dickinson and Company, Cockeysville, MD, USA), and phosphate-buffered saline (PBS) (Corning, Manassas, VA, USA). Drugs used in the study were purchased commercially: dorzolamide (TCI America, Portland, OR, USA), linezolid and vancomycin (Chem-Impex International, Wood Dale, IL, USA), and ampicillin (IBI Scientific, Peosta, IA, USA).

Antimicrobial Susceptibility Evaluation

Check if the same lab product or an alternative is used in the 5 most similar protocols
Clinical isolates used in this study were obtained from the Biodefense and Emerging Infections Research Resources Repository (BEI Resources) and the American Type Culture Collection (ATCC). Cation-adjusted Mueller Hinton broth (CAMHB), tryptic soy broth (TSB) and tryptic soy agar (TSA) were purchased from Becton, Dickinson and Company (Cockeysville, MD, USA), and the human colorectal adenocarcinoma (Caco-2) cell line was purchased from ATCC (Manassas, VA, USA). Dulbecco's Modified Eagle Medium (DMEM) was obtained from Sigma-Aldrich (St. Louis, MO, USA). Fetal bovine serum (FBS) and phosphate-buffered saline (PBS) were purchased from Corning (Manassas, VA, USA). Linezolid and vancomycin were purchased from Chem-Impex International (Wood Dale, IL, USA). Compounds were synthesized from commercial sources in our laboratory and prepared in stock solutions in DMSO.

About PubCompare

Our mission is to provide scientists with the largest repository of trustworthy protocols and intelligent analytical tools, thereby offering them extensive information to design robust protocols aimed at minimizing the risk of failures.

We believe that the most crucial aspect is to grant scientists access to a wide range of reliable sources and new useful tools that surpass human capabilities.

However, we trust in allowing scientists to determine how to construct their own protocols based on this information, as they are the experts in their field.
