Phthalate Standards Quantification Protocol

Check if the same lab product or an alternative is used in the 5 most similar protocols
Solvents used for this work include high performance liquid chromatography (HPLC) grades of hexane, methanol, acetone, ultrapure water and dichloromethane (Waters, Milford, MA, USA). Phthalate standards included di-n-butyl phthalate (DBP), benzyl butyl phthalate (BBP), di-2-ethyl hexyl phthalate (DEHP), di-n-octyl Phthalate (DnOP), di-isononyl phthalate (DiNP), diisodecyl phthalate (DIDP) (AccuStandard Inc, (New Haven, CT, USA). Internal standard solutions, including phenanthrene-d10 and chrysene-d12 and standard surrogate solutions, 2-fluorobiphenyl and 4-terphenyl-d14, were obtained SUPELCO Inc. (Bellefonte, PA, USA).

Phthalate Compound Analysis Protocol

Check if the same lab product or an alternative is used in the 5 most similar protocols
PAE standards used in this present study include di-n-butyl phthalate (DBP), benzyl butyl phthalate (BBP), di-2-ethyl hexyl phthalate (DEHP), di-n-octyl Phthalate (DnOP), di-isononyl phthalate (DiNP), and diisodecyl phthalate (DIDP) and were purchased from AccuStandard Inc. (New Haven, CT, USA). All solvents, including hexane, methanol, acetone, and dichloromethane, were high-performance liquid chromatography (HPLC) grades purchased from Waters Cooperation, USA. Additionally, solid-phase extraction cartridge Florisil (1 g 6cc, Chrom, and Sep) and an internal standard of 100 mg/L benzyl benzoate (BBZ) in n-hexane were purchased from Dr. Ehrenstorfer Gmbh (Augsburg, Germany). Anhydrous sodium sulfate (Tianjin Chengguang Chemical Reagent Co., Tianjin, China) was cleaned at 600 °C for 6 h and then kept in a desiccator before use.

Quantitative Analysis of Phthalate Esters

Check if the same lab product or an alternative is used in the 5 most similar protocols
A standard mixture of 15 PAEs consisting of dibutyl phthalate (DnBP), bis(2-ethylhexyl) phthalate (DEHP), di-n-octyl phthalate (DnOP), diisobutyl phthalate (DiBP), dimethyl phthalate (DMP), diethyl phthalate (DEP), benzyl butyl phthalate (BBP), bis(2-methoxyethyl) phthalate (DMEP), bis(4-methyl-2-pentyl) phthalate (BMPP), bis(2-ethoxyethyl) phthalate (DEEP), dipentyl phthalate (DPP), dihexyl phthalate (DnHP), bis(2-n-butoxyethyl) phthalate (DBEP), dicyclohexyl phthalate (DCHP), and dinonyl phthalate (DNP) were purchased from AccuStandard (New Haven, CT, USA). These selected 15 ingredients cover the major PAEs used in industrial processes, especially those applied as plasticizers. The methanol, formic acid, acetonitrile, hexane, and dichloromethane used were HPLC-grade. Silica gel, neutral alumina, and anhydrous sodium sulfate were activated in advance.

Phthalate Esters Quantification Protocol

Check if the same lab product or an alternative is used in the 5 most similar protocols
All solvents, including hexane, methylene chloride, acetone, methanol, and ethyl acetate, which had purity levels of at least 99%, were of HPLC grade and obtained from Fisher Chemical Co. (Fair Lawn, OH, USA). Six PAE standard solutions used in this study including dimethyl phthalate (DMP), diethyl phthalate (DEP), di-n-butyl phthalate (DBP), butyl benzyl phthalate (BBP), di-2-Ethylhexyl phthalate (DEHP), and di-n-octyl phthalate (DNOP) were supplied by AccuStandard Inc. (New Haven, CT, USA, 99%). Solid-phase extraction membranes (ENVI-18 DSK) were obtained from Sigma-Aldrich Chemistry Co. (St. Louis, MO, USA). Anhydrous sodium sulfate (analytical grade, Beijing Chemical Reagent Co., Shanghai, China) was baked in a furnace oven (FP-40, China) at 550 °C for 5 h to remove any organics or water, then kept in a sealed desiccator prior to use. Water was prepared from a Milli-Q system (Millipore; Bedford, MA, USA). Glassware was cleaned with acetone first and then n-hexane.

About PubCompare

Our mission is to provide scientists with the largest repository of trustworthy protocols and intelligent analytical tools, thereby offering them extensive information to design robust protocols aimed at minimizing the risk of failures.

We believe that the most crucial aspect is to grant scientists access to a wide range of reliable sources and new useful tools that surpass human capabilities.

However, we trust in allowing scientists to determine how to construct their own protocols based on this information, as they are the experts in their field.
