Gsh px colorimetric assay kit

Manufactured by Elabscience
Sourced in China

The GSH-Px colorimetric assay kit is a laboratory tool used to measure the activity of the glutathione peroxidase (GSH-Px) enzyme. GSH-Px is an important antioxidant enzyme that catalyzes the reduction of hydrogen peroxide and organic hydroperoxides. The kit provides a colorimetric method for the quantitative determination of GSH-Px activity in various samples, such as tissues, cells, or biological fluids.

Oxidative Stress Biomarker Analysis

The hippocampus and cortex of mice in each group were weighed, homogenized, and then subjected to a 15 min centrifugation (3000× g) for the tissue supernatant extraction. Acquisition of cellular supernatant was accomplished from the MCM-induced cells either with or without cornuside. For the malondialdehyde (MDA) and glutathione peroxidase (GSH-Px) level and the superoxide dismutase (SOD) activity assessment, the MDA assay kit (TBA method; Jiancheng Bioengineering Institute, Nanjing, China), the GSH-Px colorimetric assay kit (Elabscience, Wuhan, China), and the T-SOD (total SOD) colorimetric assay kit (WST-1 method) were separately utilized as per the protocols of manufacturers.

Antioxidant Biomarkers in Lens Homogenates

Check if the same lab product or an alternative is used in the 5 most similar protocols
Glutathione (GSH), malondialdehyde (MDA), superoxide dismutase (SOD), and glutathione peroxidase (GPx) were measured in the supernatant of the lens homogenates. GSH and MDA levels were measured with the enzyme-linked immunoassay (ELISA) kit from Elabscience (Bethesda, MD) according to the manufacturer’s instruction. SOD activity was determined with the SOD assay kit (Cayman Chemical Co., Ann Arbor, MI), and GPx activity was estimated with the GSH-PX colorimetric assay kit from Elabscience. SOD activity was presented as units per milligrams of lens tissue, and GPx was presented as unit per minute per gram of lens tissue.

About PubCompare

Our mission is to provide scientists with the largest repository of trustworthy protocols and intelligent analytical tools, thereby offering them extensive information to design robust protocols aimed at minimizing the risk of failures.

We believe that the most crucial aspect is to grant scientists access to a wide range of reliable sources and new useful tools that surpass human capabilities.

However, we trust in allowing scientists to determine how to construct their own protocols based on this information, as they are the experts in their field.
