The Annexin-V fluorescein isothiocyanate (FITC)/propidium iodide (PI) dual-staining kit is a tool used to identify and quantify apoptosis (programmed cell death) in cell populations. The kit utilizes the binding properties of Annexin-V, a protein that has a high affinity for phosphatidylserine, a phospholipid that is externalized during the early stages of apoptosis.
