Annexin 5 fluorescein isothiocyanate fitc propidium iodide dual staining kit
The Annexin-V fluorescein isothiocyanate (FITC)/propidium iodide (PI) dual-staining kit is a tool used to identify and quantify apoptosis (programmed cell death) in cell populations. The kit utilizes the binding properties of Annexin-V, a protein that has a high affinity for phosphatidylserine, a phospholipid that is externalized during the early stages of apoptosis. Annexin-V is conjugated with the fluorescent dye FITC, allowing for the detection of apoptotic cells. Additionally, the kit includes PI, a DNA-binding dye that can penetrate cells with compromised membranes, commonly found in late-stage apoptotic or necrotic cells. The simultaneous use of these two dyes enables the differentiation between early apoptotic, late apoptotic, and necrotic cell populations through flow cytometry analysis.

About PubCompare
Our mission is to provide scientists with the largest repository of trustworthy protocols and intelligent analytical tools, thereby offering them extensive information to design robust protocols aimed at minimizing the risk of failures.
We believe that the most crucial aspect is to grant scientists access to a wide range of reliable sources and new useful tools that surpass human capabilities.
However, we trust in allowing scientists to determine how to construct their own protocols based on this information, as they are the experts in their field.
