Chemicals: Choline chloride, phosphoryl oxychloride, potassium carbonate, and celite were purchased from Daejung Chemicals & Metals Co., Ltd., Siheung, Republic of Korea. (R)-( )-3-chloro-1,2-propanediol was purchased from TCI. All other chemicals were purchased from Merck.
Flow system: All parts of the system were manually assembled to customize the continuous flow reactor. Chemyx Fusion 200 syringe pumps were used for reactants injection. Among the system components, shut-off valve, static mixing tee, 4-port 3-way flow-switching valves and unions were purchased from Upchurch Scientific. Gastight borosilicate glass syringes (10 mL and 25 mL volumes) and 1/32″ ID tubing (PTFE) were purchased from Runze Fluid. The product-collecting vials located at the end of the system were 50 mL borosilicate vials, purchased from Samwoo Kurex.

The choline chloride (>99.0% w/w) was provided from Daejung. The sucrose (>99.5% w/w), fructose (>99.5% w/w), PEGDME with a molar mass of 250 g mol−1 (>99.0% w/w), l-arginine (>99.0% w/w), l-phenylalanine (>99.0% w/w), and l-tyrosine (>99.0% w/w) were purchased from Merck. All of the materials were utilized without additional purification and also the solutions were prepared with double distilled deionized water. To determine the water content of compounds, the Karl-Fischer technique was utilized.

Headspace Analysis of 1,4-Dioxane Compounds

Check if the same lab product or an alternative is used in the 5 most similar protocols
1,4-Dioxane (99.5%) was a product of Daejung Chemicals & Metals (Siheung-si, Republic of Korea), and 1,4-Dioxane-d8 (2000 μg/mL in methanol), which was used as an internal standard (IS) material, was purchased from Sigma-Aldrich (Saint Louis, MO, USA). Choline bitartrate (98%), choline chloride (99%), polysorbate 60 (≥99.5%), and PEG 600 (≥99.5%), used as bases in the preparation of standard solutions, were products of Daejung Chemicals & Metals. Polysorbate 20 (99%) was purchased from Duksan reagents (Ansan-si, Republic of Korea), and PEG 1000 (≥99.5%) was purchased from Samchun Chemicals (Seoul, Republic of Korea).
For crimp-top headspace analysis, 20 mL vials (TLS-20ML-20-V1002), 0 mm PTFE/white silicone, 3 mm thick septa (TLS-20-SP3004), and 20 mm open-top aluminum crimp caps (10 mm hole) were purchased from Yuil Labtech (Namyangju-si, Korea). For comparisons, a screw-type head space with 20 mL vials (SL.Vi1173) and caps (SL.Vi1176) were purchased from SciLab Korea (Seoul, Republic of Korea).

Choline Chloride and Drug Solvent Characterization

Check if the same lab product or an alternative is used in the 5 most similar protocols
The choline chloride (>99 wt%) was provided from Daejung. Merck provided sucrose with a purity greater than 99.5 wt%, as well as PPG with a molar mass of 400 g mol−1. Diclofenac potassium, acetaminophen, and salicylic acid, each with a purity exceeding 99.5 wt%, were sourced from Danna Pharmaceutical Company in Iran. These chemicals were used without further purification. For solution preparation, double-distilled deionized water with a conductivity of 0.055 μS cm−1 was used. The Karl-Fischer technique was employed to determine the water content of the compounds, and additional information about the chemicals is detailed in Table 1.

About PubCompare

Our mission is to provide scientists with the largest repository of trustworthy protocols and intelligent analytical tools, thereby offering them extensive information to design robust protocols aimed at minimizing the risk of failures.

We believe that the most crucial aspect is to grant scientists access to a wide range of reliable sources and new useful tools that surpass human capabilities.

However, we trust in allowing scientists to determine how to construct their own protocols based on this information, as they are the experts in their field.
