Control scrambled siRNA sequence was 5′-AATTC-TCCGAACGTGTCACGT-3′ (Xeragon, Cologne, Germany). Transfections were performed using an RNAiFect transfection kit following the manufacturer’s protocol (Qiagen, Basel, Switzerland). Cells were harvested for subsequent analysis at 24 or 48 h after transfection.
