Phosphate buffered saline solution 1xpbs

Indium acetate (99.99%), zinc acetate (99,9%), myristic acid (>99%), tris (trimethylsilyl)phosphine (95%, (TMS)₃P), 1-octadecene (90%, ODE), trioctylphosphine (97%, TOP), sulfur (99.99%), selenium (99.99%), dimethylformamide (DMF), poly (methyl methacrylate) (PMMA, M_W ~350,000 GPC), aluminum isopropoxide (Al (IPA)₃ 98%), toluene, methanol, chloroform, acetone, hexane, D-penicillamine, tetramethylammonium hydroxide (TMAOH), phosphate-buffered saline solution (1xPBS), and tris (2-carboxyethyl) phosphine hydrochloride solution 0.5 M (TCEP) were purchased from Sigma-Aldrich. Zinc stearate (90%, ZnSt₂) was acquired from Riedel de Haën. Oleic acid (70%) came from Fisher Chemicals. All chemicals were used as received without any further purification, unless stated otherwise.

Before venom glands were collected, T. sinensis adult females were briefly (a few minutes) anesthetized on ice and subsequently placed in a phosphate-buffered saline solution (1X PBS) (Sigma, St. Louis, MO, USA) in a Petri dish (Sigma, St. Louis, MO, USA). A stereo microscope (Nikon, Tokyo, Japan) was used for dissections. The entire reproductive apparatus was removed with a pair of forceps and placed in a drop of 1X PBS solution. Subsequently, the venom glands were isolated and placed in a centrifuge tube (Eppendorf, Hamburg, Germany) containing TRI Reagent (Sigma, St. Louis, MO, USA) for the following RNA extraction and on slides for the subsequent microscope observations (Sigma, St. Louis, MO, USA).
