Trichloro(methyl)silane (TCMS; 98%; CAS: 75-79-6), Trimethoxy(methyl)silane (TMMS; 98%; CAS: 1185-55-3), Trichloro(1H,1H,2H,2H-perfluoro-1-octyl)silane (TCPFOS; 97%; CAS: 51851-37-7), and Silicone oil (viscosity 100 cSt at 25 °C, CAS: 63148-62-9) were acquired from Sigma-Aldrich (US). Sodium Hydroxide (NaOH; ACS/ISO compliant, CAS: 1310-73-2) was acquired from Merck Millipore (DE). Krytox GPL105 (viscosity 522 cSt at 20 °C) was acquired from DuPont (US). Anodized aluminum sheets (EN AW-5005/EN AW-AlMg1, 1 mm thick) were acquired from Allega GmbH (CH). Whatman qualitative filter paper grade 1 was purchased from Sigma-Aldrich (US).

Copper foils with a thickness of 0.15 mm were produced in-house by rolling and annealing of electrolytic copper. 1,3,5-benzene-tricarboxylic acid (H₃BTC, 95%, Sigma-Aldrich), methyl-tributyl-ammonium methyl-sulphate (MTBS, ≥95%, Sigma-Aldrich), ethanol (absolute, analytical grade, Merck) and the perfluorinated oil Krytox GPL 105 (DuPont) were used as received without further purification. Deionised ultrapure water (κ < 0.06 µS cm⁻¹) was used for electrolytes and cleaning procedures. Contact angle measurements were performed with deionised water (κ < 1.0 µS cm⁻¹), diiodomethane (CH₂I_2, 99%, Alfa Aesar) and acetone (technical grade, >98%, BHD Prolabo) as testing fluids.
