Ganglion Cell Layer Thickness Analysis

Check if the same lab product or an alternative is used in the 5 most similar protocols
The mice were euthanized 5 days after modeling, and their eyeballs were removed and fixed with an FAS eyeball fixator (G1109, Servicebio, Wuhan, China). The eyeballs were embedded in paraffin and cut into 4 μm vertical sections. Sections were stained with hematoxylin and eosin (H&E; G1120, Servicebio) according to the manufacturer’s instructions and visualized using an optical microscope (Eclipse C1). CaseViewer software (3DHISTEC, Sysmex, Switzerland) was used to measure the thickness of the ganglion cell layer at distances of 300, 600, 900, 1200, and 1500 μm from the optic nerve center.

Retinal Ganglion Cell Complex Measurement

Check if the same lab product or an alternative is used in the 5 most similar protocols
Rats (4 rats per group) were sacrificed 3 days after intravitreal injection. Eyeballs were fixed in 4% formalin, and the samples were dehydrated in a graded series of ethanol (80%, 95%, and 100%) and embedded in paraffin. Samples were cut into 3 µm vertical sections using freezing microtome (CM1860 UV, Leica, Germany). The slices were stained with hematoxylin and eosin (H&E), visualized using a light microscope (Nikon) and analyzed using CaseViewer software (3DHISTEC; Sysmex, Budapest, Hungary). The thickness of the retinal ganglion cell body complex (GCC) was measured at 500, 1000, 1500 and 2000 µm from the optic nerve center.

Histological Analysis of Retinal Ganglion Cell Complex

Check if the same lab product or an alternative is used in the 5 most similar protocols
The eyeballs were fixed in 4% formalin, dehydrated in a graded series of ethanol, and embedded in paraffin. Subsequently, the eyeballs were cut into 3 µm vertical sections. The slices were stained with hematoxylin and eosin (H&E) and visualized using a light microscope and analyzed using CaseViewer software (3DHISTEC; Sysmex, Switzerland). The thickness of the retinal ganglion cell body complex (GCC) was measured at 600, 1200 and 1800 μm from the optic nerve center.

About PubCompare

Our mission is to provide scientists with the largest repository of trustworthy protocols and intelligent analytical tools, thereby offering them extensive information to design robust protocols aimed at minimizing the risk of failures.

We believe that the most crucial aspect is to grant scientists access to a wide range of reliable sources and new useful tools that surpass human capabilities.

However, we trust in allowing scientists to determine how to construct their own protocols based on this information, as they are the experts in their field.
