Human neural stem cell maintenance media

Manufactured by Merck Group

The Human neural stem cell maintenance media is a specialized cell culture medium designed to support the growth and maintenance of human neural stem cells in vitro. It provides the necessary nutrients, growth factors, and other components to sustain the undifferentiated state of these cells.

Culturing Patient-derived GSCs and hNPCs

Check if the same lab product or an alternative is used in the 5 most similar protocols
Patient-derived GSCs and human neural progenitor cells (hNPC) were cultured in human neural stem cell maintenance media (Millipore), 1% penicillin-streptomycin (PS), and supplemented with EGF and β fibroblast growth factor (20 ng/ml each). hNPC was induced from human embryonic stem cells H1 as described previously [71 (link)]. Noncancerous mouse astrocytes (C8-D1A) were cultured with Dulbecco’s modified Eagle’s medium/nutrient mixture F12 (DMEM/F12) with 10% fetal bovine serum (FBS) and 1% PS. Human embryonic kidney (HEK) 293T cells were cultured with DMEM-high glucose with 10% FBS and 1% PS. The following inhibitors were used in this study: 17-AAG (MedChemExpress), Z-VAD-FMK (MedChemExpress), KN-93 (MedChemExpress), Volasertib (Selleckchem), BI 2536 (MedChemExpress), KU-55933 (MedChemExpress), and Nocodazole (Sigma).

Patient-Derived Glioblastoma Stem Cell Culture

Check if the same lab product or an alternative is used in the 5 most similar protocols
Patient-derived GSCs were provided by C. Brennan (Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center) and R. A. DePinho at MD Anderson Cancer Center. The GSCs were cultured in human neural stem cell maintenance media (Millipore), 1% penicillin-streptomycin (PS), and supplemented with EGF and β fibroblast growth factor (20 ng ml−1 each). Noncancerous mouse astrocytes (C8-D1A) were provided by T. V. Arumugam (La Trobe University) and cultured with Dulbecco’s modified Eagle’s medium/nutrient mixture F12 (DMEM/F12) with 10% fetal bovine serum (FBS) and 1% PS. Human embryonic kidney–293 (HEK-293) T cells were cultured with DMEM with 10% FBS and 1% PS. The following inhibitors were used in this study: sulconazole nitrate (Selleckchem), fluconazole and tebuconazole (Sigma-Aldrich), lovastatin hydroxy acid (Cayman), and DCA (Sigma-Aldrich). Cholesterol–methyl-β-cyclodextrin (Sigma-Aldrich) was used in rescue experiments.

About PubCompare

Our mission is to provide scientists with the largest repository of trustworthy protocols and intelligent analytical tools, thereby offering them extensive information to design robust protocols aimed at minimizing the risk of failures.

We believe that the most crucial aspect is to grant scientists access to a wide range of reliable sources and new useful tools that surpass human capabilities.

However, we trust in allowing scientists to determine how to construct their own protocols based on this information, as they are the experts in their field.
