Gen 2 assay

Manufactured by Beckman Coulter

The Gen II Assay is a laboratory equipment product from Beckman Coulter. It is designed to perform various assays, which are analytical procedures used to detect and measure specific substances in a sample. The core function of the Gen II Assay is to facilitate the analysis and quantification of target analytes in a sample, though its specific intended use is not provided.

Serum AMH Levels Conversion Protocol

Check if the same lab product or an alternative is used in the 5 most similar protocols
Serum AMH levels in patients were compared with a group of healthy controls. This international reference cohort existed of 554 healthy adult women, aged 18–47 years, who had a regular menstrual cycle and/or were proven fertile.26 (link) AMH levels in controls were originally reported as measured by the Beckman Coulter Gen II Assay. Therefore, a conversion factor was used to compare AMH levels in the patient group to those in the controls25 (link):
AMH(picoAMH assay in ng mL)      =(1.45*AMHGenII)+0.32.

Verifying AMH Assay Discrepancies

Check if the same lab product or an alternative is used in the 5 most similar protocols
A recent case report suggested that the amino acid substitution corresponding to rs10417628 (AMH locus) reduces AMH detection by the picoAMH assay from Ansh Labs without influencing AMH bioactivity (Hoyos et al., 2020 (link)). We sought to verify this finding in a subsample of the Doetinchem Cohort Study, for which AMH was measured using both the picoAMH assay and the less sensitive Gen II assay from Beckman Coulter. In addition, we requested median AMH levels across rs10417628 genotype categories from both ALSPAC mothers and daughters, because ALSPAC also used the AMH Gen II assay from Beckman Coulter.

Hormone Measurement Assays Protocol

Check if the same lab product or an alternative is used in the 5 most similar protocols
Up to March 2008 LH, FSH, estradiol and TSH levels were measured by chemilu-minescence immunoassay (Siemens Bayer Advia Centaur CP Immunoassay). Since March 2008 LH, FSH, estradiol and TSH were measured by electrochemiluminescence immunoassay (Roche Cobas E 601, module immunology analyzer). SHBG levels were measured by chemiluminescence immunoassay (Siemens Bayer Advia Centaur CP Immunoassay) up to November 2010 and since then by electrochemiluminescence immunoassay (Roche Cobas E 601, module immunology analyzer). Serum levels of Inhibin B were measured by the Beckman Coulter GenII assay.

About PubCompare

Our mission is to provide scientists with the largest repository of trustworthy protocols and intelligent analytical tools, thereby offering them extensive information to design robust protocols aimed at minimizing the risk of failures.

We believe that the most crucial aspect is to grant scientists access to a wide range of reliable sources and new useful tools that surpass human capabilities.

However, we trust in allowing scientists to determine how to construct their own protocols based on this information, as they are the experts in their field.
