Cd146 antibody

Manufactured by Miltenyi Biotec

The CD146 antibody is a laboratory reagent used for the detection and analysis of the CD146 protein, also known as the melanoma cell adhesion molecule (MCAM). The CD146 protein is a cell surface marker that plays a role in cell-cell adhesion and is expressed on various cell types, including endothelial cells, smooth muscle cells, and certain types of cancer cells. The CD146 antibody can be used in techniques such as flow cytometry, immunohistochemistry, and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assays (ELISA) to identify and quantify cells expressing the CD146 protein.

Cardiac Endothelial Cell Isolation

Check if the same lab product or an alternative is used in the 5 most similar protocols
Hearts were explanted twenty-one weeks post-STZ injection and cardiac cells were dissociated using a gentle MACS Dissociator (Miltenyi Biotec) as described by the manufacturer. Endothelial cells were isolated using positive selection by magnetic affinity cell sorting using a CD146 antibody (Miltenyi Biotec) and were then used for RNA isolation and RT-PCR.

Isolation of Hepatic Cell Populations

Check if the same lab product or an alternative is used in the 5 most similar protocols
The different hepatic cell populations were isolated by MACS as described by Liu et al. (2017 (link)). After isolation of hepatocyte fraction, magnetically labeled CD146 antibody (Miltenyi) was added to non‐parenchymal fraction and LSEC fraction was collected by passing through a magnetic column as per manufacturer’s instructions. The CD146 fraction was incubated with biotin labeled F4/80 antibody (Miltenyi) and anti‐biotin microbeads, and magnetic separation was performed to isolate the F4/80+ cell fraction. The purity of the isolated fractions was checked by real‐time PCR and western blotting for cell specific markers.

About PubCompare

Our mission is to provide scientists with the largest repository of trustworthy protocols and intelligent analytical tools, thereby offering them extensive information to design robust protocols aimed at minimizing the risk of failures.

We believe that the most crucial aspect is to grant scientists access to a wide range of reliable sources and new useful tools that surpass human capabilities.

However, we trust in allowing scientists to determine how to construct their own protocols based on this information, as they are the experts in their field.
