Glucose oxidase (GOx, 100 U mg−1) from Aspergillus niger and chitosan were purchased from Sigma-Aldrich (Tokyo, Japan). Bilirubin oxidase (BOD, BO “Amano” 3) from Myrothecium verrucaria was obtained from Amano Enzyme Inc. (Nagoya, Japan). 1,2-Naphthoquinone (1,2-NQ) was purchased from Kanto Chemical (Tokyo, Japan). 2,2′-Azinobis(3-ethylbenzothiazoline-6-sulfonic acid ammonium salt) (ABTS) was obtained from Tokyo Chemical Industry Co.
