32 channel surface coil

Manufactured by Siemens

The 32-channel surface coil is a specialized lab equipment designed for magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) applications. It features a multi-element receiver coil configuration that allows for simultaneous acquisition of signals from 32 distinct regions of interest. This coil is intended to enhance the spatial and temporal resolution of MRI scans, enabling improved image quality and diagnostic capabilities.

Imaging data were collected on a Siemens 7T scanner with a Siemens 32-channel surface coil. Each scan session began with a high resolution T1-weighted Magnetization Prepared Rapid Gradient Echo (MPRAGE) sequence (TE = 3.88 msec; TR = 3000 msec; flip angle = 6°; matrix size = 256 X 256; voxel size = 1 mm × 1 mm x 1 mm; 192 axial slices). The functional images were acquired with a single-shot interleaved gradient-recalled echo planar imaging sequence, with slices positioned to cover all of the occipital and temporal lobes (TE = 27 msec; TR = 2000 msec; flip angle = 70°; matrix size = 126 × 126; voxel size = 1.6 mm × 1.6 mm x 1.6 mm; 43 oblique axial slices, no acceleration was used). Supplementary Figure S3B shows the fMRI scan slice coverage overlaid on a representative human brain.

High-Resolution Functional MRI at 7T

Check if the same lab product or an alternative is used in the 5 most similar protocols
Scanning was conducted in a Siemens 7T scanner, using a 32-channel surface coil. The EPI scan parameters were: TR = 2 s; TE = 14.29 ms; flip angle = 75˚; 28 slices, in-plane matrix size = 64 × 34. Voxel size was 1.4 mm isotropic. Five anatomical scans were also collected (TR = 6 s; TE = 2.99 ms; 0.75 mm isotropic; MP2RAGE) and then averaged to create the anatomical data used to create reliable cortical surfaces for each subject using FreeSurfer (http://surfer.nmr.mgh.harvard.edu).

About PubCompare

Our mission is to provide scientists with the largest repository of trustworthy protocols and intelligent analytical tools, thereby offering them extensive information to design robust protocols aimed at minimizing the risk of failures.

We believe that the most crucial aspect is to grant scientists access to a wide range of reliable sources and new useful tools that surpass human capabilities.

However, we trust in allowing scientists to determine how to construct their own protocols based on this information, as they are the experts in their field.
