Hdl cholesterol

Manufactured by Crystal Chem
Sourced in United States

HDL-cholesterol is a laboratory assay used to quantify the concentration of high-density lipoprotein (HDL) cholesterol in a blood sample. It measures the cholesterol content within HDL particles, which play a crucial role in the transport and metabolism of cholesterol in the body.

Plasma glucose was determined using the glucose oxidase method. Plasma NEFA (Wako Chemicals, Richmond, VA, USA), triacylglycerols (Roche Diagnostics, Indianapolis, IN, USA), and total cholesterol (Wako Chemicals) and HDL-cholesterol (Crystal Chem, Elk Grove Village, IL, USA) were determined using enzymatic assays. Plasma insulin (ALPCO, Salem, NH, USA) and C-peptide (Millipore, Burlington, MA, USA) were determined by ELISA. GC-MS was used to determine plasma [6,6-2H]glucose enrichment [27 (link)]. Plasma amino acid analysis was performed as previously described [28 (link)].

About PubCompare

Our mission is to provide scientists with the largest repository of trustworthy protocols and intelligent analytical tools, thereby offering them extensive information to design robust protocols aimed at minimizing the risk of failures.

We believe that the most crucial aspect is to grant scientists access to a wide range of reliable sources and new useful tools that surpass human capabilities.

However, we trust in allowing scientists to determine how to construct their own protocols based on this information, as they are the experts in their field.
