Matrigel recombinant basement membrane is a solubilized basement membrane preparation extracted from the Engelbreth-Holm-Swarm (EHS) mouse sarcoma, a tumor rich in extracellular matrix proteins. It is composed of laminin, collagen IV, heparan sulfate proteoglycans, and entactin. Matrigel recombinant basement membrane provides a reconstituted basement membrane matrix that can be used for the in vitro study of cell differentiation, migration, and invasion.
